About Bendabout

In 2015, an addition was added onto my home to make a perfect vacation rental for all the interesting people that visit Bend. There are two rooms, Bendabout Inn and Bendabout Too. The common room has a kitchenette with a sink, refrigerator, microwave, hot plate, coffee pot, toaster oven, toaster and more. The patio has it's own table, chairs and barbeque. You are also welcome to enjoy my patio as well.

The two separate bedrooms each have a king bed, walk-in closet and private bathroom. You'll have a private entrance, patio and barbecue and just a 5 minute walk to the river and the Old Mill District!

Bendabout is named for the roundabouts in Bend, it doesn't take long to appreciate and love them! The space is a beautiful private bedroom featuring a plush king bed in a newly constructed 2 bedroom apartment suite. The suite is built onto the side of a historic 1930 house that originally served as a grocery store to Bend's mill workers in the 30's and 40's. The room has it's own private ensuite bathroom with shower, walk-in closet and a shared kitchenette space. The second bedroom is across the common kitchen and is also available to rent if you have a larger party or family. (Bendabout Too)

Crafters, quilters and fly-tyers are invited to use the common room for projects. Special lighting and extra outlets were installed to accommodate guests for their machines and appliances. Two large Costco tables, an iron and ironing board and cutting mat are available if you want to have a “craft retreat” during your visit to Bend.

I've lived in my house since 1999 and have enjoyed turning it into the home of my dreams. It is located in a beautiful neighborhood overlooking the Deschutes river and Old Mill District. It is a short walk down the hill to all the river activities, dining, nightlife, entertainment, parks and trails. Also, a very short 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk to downtown Bend. It also offers easy access to the Parkway (Hwy 97) and the Southern Bridge, the gateway to the Cascade Lakes Hwy and Mt. Bachelor.

Enjoy your morning coffee on the private patio or relax on the shared deck with a glass of wine or one of Bend's famous craft brews. Barbeque also available for those beautiful summer evenings!

I share my home with Piper, a miniature Australian labradoodle. Piper loves people and will greet you enthusiastically.

Guest access

Bendabout will be your private space. There is a hallway connecting to my home and laundry room which is available with permission. Each bedroom also has it's own key, their is a private patio for your use or you can share my patio with me, depending on time of year, sun and weather.

Interaction with guests

I enjoy meeting my guests and sharing information about the space. I love sharing with you the great places around Bend and Central Oregon. And I also respect your privacy.

The neighborhood

Quaint, safe neighborhood on a hill overlooking the river. Nice mix of historic homes and new construction.

Getting around

5 minute walk to Old Mill and river, 20 minute walk or 5 minute drive to downtown. Easy on and off the parkway which bisects Bend and also easy on and easy off the Reed Market to access the mountains. There is also public transportation access down the hill at Old Mill, street and driveway parking available.

Other things to note

Bendabout for the outdoors person - starts with a walk to the Old Mill where you can rent a bike, kayak, canoe or paddle board. Visit an awesome fly fishing shop or plan a tour of Bend on an electric bike or Segway. Just a one minute drive to get on the road to Mt. Bachelor.

Bendabout for the concert-goer and foodie - again start with a walk down to the Old Mill District. Restaurants, art galleries and the Les Schwab amphitheater are all only a few minutes away.

Bendabout for the quilter or craftsperson - First let's get your machines or supplies set up and there are tables for that. Bendabout has exceptional lighting and extra plugs plus we provide an ironing board, iron and cutting mat. Quilters have 8 shops to choose from in Central Oregon, a beautiful knit shop and not far away an alpaca ranch with a beautiful shop for alpaca articles.
