Cafe au Lait

The quilt is a Marti Michell design originally called Northern Lights Sampler. We thought that doing it in neutrals would put a new spin on it and really give it a classic look. Each month you will receive the fabrics for a 16” block. The blocks start out easier in the early months and then progress to more complex piecing. The BOM also uses the Perfect Patchwork Template Sets B and D, so named because these templates allow incredibly precise piecing. Template B will need to be purchased for Month One ($18.95 with the participant discount) and Template D will need to be purchased for Month Three ($19.50 with the participant discount). Combined, these templates will cost only about $3 per month and QuiltWorks will be using them in future BOMs.

There will be a demo class on the second Saturday morning of every month at 9:30, except in July when we meet the 3rd Saturday. An unusual feature of this quilt is that three of the blocks are left in two sections to complete the sides of the quilt and one block is left in quarters to complete the quilt! At the end of the BOM you will have a double/queen sampler quilt and instructions to reuse any of these blocks in future projects for yourself.
