November 2017 Newsletter

The Quilt Gallery - Our gallery exhibit for November is our annual November Inspirations Small Quilt Show. We've invited quilters to share small works of art and we have 33 inspiring pieces. Viewers are invited to vote for their favorite piece and the top three vote-getters will be announced at the December First Friday.

Sew Teach Me Open House- QuiltWorks and Sew Teach Me are hosting an open house on Saturday, November 25th from 10A to 2P. Sewing machines will be set up and students, boys and girls between the ages of 8 and 18 are invited to come and make a small project. Applications for students and mentors are available.

Sew Teach Me is non-profit that started at QuiltWorks. The vision of STM is to match mentors with youth so they can learn to sew for free. Our first match was April 10, 2017 and we have over 45 kids in or through the program and 18 screened and trained mentors. If you are interested in more information it's available at QuiltWorks. We always welcome new mentors, new students and donors for the program. There are many different ways to help out and to pass our love of sewing to the next generation.

Second Saturday Strip Club – Join the QuiltWorks 2017 Strip Club on the 2nd Saturdays of the month at 8:30 AM. Our next club is November 11. We present projects made from precuts; exciting monthly Tease Bags; Show & Tell from you; shop announcements; door prizes and always a surprise performance from Marilyn! The final Strip Club of 2017 will be on December 9 and three strippers names will be drawn to each win a $100 gift certificate.

December Quilt Gallery - Our December Gallery Exhibit will be "small groups" the Blockin Robbins, Book Scissors Quilt, The Square Crows and the Central Oregon Modern Quilt Guild. Each group will be exhibiting challenges or round robins they've worked on this past year.

Longarm Promotion - We are thrilled to have two great quilters for our long arm, Vickie Minor and Karen "KD" Dougan. We offer edge to edge quilting and pride ourselves on a "Two Week Turnaround".
