February 2018 Newsletter

The Quilt Gallery - Our gallery exhibit for February has Nikki Cooper as our Featured Quilter and it's a knock-out show! There is lots of color, forms and texture. Our group exhibit is the Undercover Quilters with quilts from the novel Great Kitchen of the Midwest.

QuiltWorks Classes - We have many classes starting in February. Visit our website or drop in to pick up a schedule.

Sew Teach Me is a non-profit that started at QuiltWorks. The vision of STM is to match mentors with youth, so they can learn to sew for free. Our first match was April 10, 2017 and we have over 70 kids in or through the program and 27 screened and trained mentors. If you are interested in more information, it's available at QuiltWorks. We always welcome new mentors, new students and donors for the program. There are many ways to help and to pass our love of sewing to the next generation.

Second Saturday Strip Club – Join the QuiltWorks 2018 Strip Club on the 2nd Saturdays of the month at 8:30 AM. Our next club is February 10. We present projects made from precuts; exciting monthly Tease Bags; Show & Tell from you; shop announcements; door prizes and always a surprise performance from Marilyn! Every time you come your name is entered in a draw to win one of three $100 gift certificates

Novel Idea Quilt Exhibit - Every April the library selects a novel, invites the community to read it and they have programs and presentations related to the novel. QuiltWorks invites customers to make a quilt based on their own inspiration from the novel. Our exhibit will be up for the month of April. Book or craft clubs are invited to hold their April meeting in the gallery. Contact marilyn@quiltworks.com to reserve your spot.

March Quilt Gallery - Our Featured Quilter for March will be Ruth Kinane. And a theme for anyone to participate is Applique! If you have an applique quilt that hasn't been shown in the gallery email marilyn@quiltworks and submit your quilt for the March gallery.

Longarm Promotion - We are thrilled to have two great quilters for our long arm, Vickie Minor and Karen "KD" Dougan. We offer edge to edge quilting and pride ourselves on a "Two Week Turnaround".
