May 2018

QuiltWorks Gallery - Our May quilt exhibit features a show called "Quilting a Friendship" by Nancy Dobratz or Minneapolis and Cathy Smith of Bend. Two best friends that live in different cities and often use the same pattern for quilts. Side by side and with vivid descriptions their exhibit shows how friendship has no distance.

QuiltWorks First Friday Reception - Please join us on Friday, May 4 to honor our gallery exhibitors. We'll have refreshments, door prizes and a sale. The reception is from 5 to 7 PM.

Second Saturday Strip Club – Strip Club is taking a break for the summer. Our last Strip Club is May 12 until September 8.

Sew Teach Me is non-profit that started at QuiltWorks. The vision of STM is to match mentors with youth so they can learn to sew for free. Our first match was April 10, 2017 and we have over 70 kids in or through the program and 27 screened and trained mentors. If you are interested in more information, it's available at QuiltWorks. We always welcome new mentors, new students and donors for the program. There are many ways to help out and to pass our love of sewing to the next generation.

Sew Teach Me Goes National - Beginning May 17, 2018 Sew Teach Me will promote the program to quilt shops and industry professionals at the International Quilt Market in Portland, Oregon.

Quilt Sampler! - QuiltWorks is one of the quilt shops featured in the Better Homes and Gardens Quilt Sampler magazine for the Spring publication!
